For over 24 years, Jennifer Lancaster has been an educator within the Gaston County School System.  She graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and Elementary Education K-6.  She earned her Master's Degree in Administration and Curriculum Instruction from UNCC.  Jennifer taught at Kiser Elementary for 14 years prior to moving on as a Literacy Specialist and then as the Content Teacher at Brookside Elementary.

Jennifer has two children ~ Jake who is 17 and Bridget who is 13.  She is a native of Rhode Island and loves to spend her free time traveling, at the beach, working in the yard or watching a game.  Go Red Sox and Patriots!

A proud native of Gaston County and a product of ÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳, I have deep roots in the community. I attended Ashbrook High School from freshman to junior year and proudly graduated from Forestview High School. After graduation, I embarked on my educational journey, attending, and graduating from Hampton University (Bachelors & Masters), George Washington University (Masters), and Gardner Webb University (Doctorate).

With 17 years of experience in the field of education, I began in the classroom, where I honed my teaching skills and developed a passion for empowering students through knowledge. Driven by a commitment to academic excellence, I transitioned into the role of a literacy facilitator, bringing my wealth of teaching experience to support and guide both new and veteran educators in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. In addition to my work in K-12 education, I also support undergraduate students as an adjunct professor at Gardner Webb University.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am a military wife and proud parent to four sons and a daughter. Family life is characterized by lively activities, including impromptu pillow fights, fort-building adventures, and the occasional couch-jumping session. Each day is an exciting chapter filled with the joys and challenges of raising an active and vibrant family.
